About Us

Gather Round Theatre is a newly established theatre company dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Dundee, Angus, and the wider Tayside region.

Our mission is to produce fearless, high-quality theatre that tackles mature themes and resonates with engaged, paying audiences. We are committed to developing original works and touring them to venues outside the Central Belt, thereby reaching communities with lower levels of cultural engagement.

Established in 2025 by Marley Hunter, Gather Round Theatre is an exciting new company based in Angus, Scotland that aims to bring quality and exciting new works to Angus and the wider area. Frustrated at the lack of opportunities for mature emerging creatives, Marley set the company up with the plan to offer support and opportunities to new creatives on the more mature side of life.

Marley Hunter

Producer

Marley is the Director of Gather Round Theatre and produces all our shows. She is also our main writer and has won awards for her scripts. She has just finished her BA (Hons) in Performance at Queen Margaret University and is about to undertake an MA in Arts, Cultural and Festival Management.

Marley runs Spotlights Community Youth Theatre in Forfar and has over 25 years of experience in running charities and working in the third sector. She decided to change careers in 2023 and was disappointed by the lack of opportunities for mature artists just starting out, so she created opportunities of her own.

Holly Dunbar

Director

Holly Dunbar is a Dundee-born actor/director who has just completed her Performance Degree in Edinburgh.

Holly has years of experience in theatre and has been performing in local productions since she was young. Growing up, she kept her passion for drama and pursued a career in theatre.

Most recently, she made her directorial debut with Nae Guid in 2025. Having found a love of directing, Holly is eager to create work that is accessible and aims to bring a love of local theatre back to her hometown and the surrounding areas.

Having found her own "safe space" both on and off stage, she is a firm believer that the arts are incredibly important and everyone should be able to find something of themselves in it.
